SURFACE TREATMENTS

Surface treatments

Surface treatments can increase a stone’s resistance to different conditions, for example, reducing liquid absorption, making the stone more chip-resistant and easier to maintain. Not all surface treatments are suitable for use in the kitchen, and for outdoor conditions only those that withstand weather should be chosen. Explore different stones HERE.

Antique

Surface treatment that gives the stone an antique appearance, with a soft and textured finish.

Brushed

Structured matte finish.

Flamed

A flamed surface is rough, slip-resistant, and generally faded, effectively concealing imperfections and color variations. It's the best choice for outdoor stairs in our climate.

Leather

Brushing the surface creates a slightly textured or leathery finish.

Matte

A matte surface is smooth but dull or minimally reflective.

Polished

Polished surface finish is shiny and has a mirror effect. Polished stone slabs are used mostly indoors.
